Building a Global Firm: Lessons from Scaling an Outsourcing Business

Going Global Just Got Easier!

Hi everyone,

If there’s one thing that building a global accounts outsourcing firm has taught me, it’s this: you can’t stay local if you want to grow

Scaling an outsourcing business isn’t just about cutting costs or hiring people—it’s about building a global system that works across time zones, languages, and cultures.

When I started thinking about expanding Samera, I knew the answer was in offshoring. But I also knew that simply setting up shop in India wasn’t going to cut it. You need the right processes, the right people, and—most importantly—the right mindset.

A 2023 Deloitte report found that 70% of firms outsourcing globally saw improved cost savings and productivity. But what the numbers don’t show is the complexity behind that success. It's not a plug-and-play model.

Start by asking: What does your local team need? What do your clients need? The key is finding the sweet spot where both benefit. For us, working with UK dentists gave us clarity—Indian CAs could handle the technical work, but long-term success required more than just back-office support.

And this is why I always say, “Your biggest resource isn’t your cost-saving spreadsheet—it’s your people.”

Investment in people is what pays dividends down the road. Research shows that firms with a strong focus on employee well-being have 21% higher profitability, according to Gallup.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to build trust

Yes, we’re dealing with different geographies, but at the end of the day, we’re one team. And we ensure that by investing in training, fostering open communication, and maintaining transparency on all levels.

A global accounts outsourcing firm is not just about cutting costs or increasing capacity—it’s about extending the reach of your firm, building an operation that’s sustainable and growth-driven. And it’s about doing it in a way that feels seamless for your clients, no matter where your team is based.

NASSCOM reports since the rise of remote work, 59% of companies globally are looking to expand outsourcing to tap into global talent.

If you're thinking about taking the plunge into offshoring or are already in it, take a step back and look at your foundation. Are your teams aligned? Are your systems adaptable? Is your leadership focused on more than just the bottom line? These are the real questions to ask yourself.

And remember, growth isn’t just about expanding into new markets—it’s about creating a global team that drives your vision forward.
