Giving Back: Samera’s CSR Story and What’s Next
Hi everyone,
It’s easy to get lost in the numbers, deadlines, and spreadsheets that define our world as accountants. But there’s a bigger cause that matters just as much: the one where we give back to the community that supports us. For accountancy firms, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming a must-have.
The Edelman Trust Barometer reported that 66% of B2B clients are more likely to work with companies that have visible CSR initiatives.
Here at Samera, we’ve embraced CSR with open arms, partnering with the Rhythm of Life NGO to empower underprivileged children through education. Over the past year, my team and I have shared moments that remind us why we do what we do.
Why Education Matters
Our focus on supporting education through the Rhythm of Life NGO wasn’t a random choice—it was a deliberate decision rooted in our values and the belief that education is the most powerful equalizer.
A UNESCO study shows that every $1 invested in education-based CSR programs generates $4 in long-term economic benefits for communities.
Our Partnership with Rhythm of Life
Our collaboration with Rhythm of Life is more than a partnership—it’s a commitment to uplifting young lives.
Together, we’ve helped set up a computer lab for the children, equipping them with essential digital skills to thrive in today’s world. Beyond that, we fund the provision of teachers and also provide stationery and learning materials, ensuring they have the resources they need for their studies.
But it doesn’t stop with support – we also show up!
Our team actively volunteers, dedicating time to teach, mentor, and engage with these children. We celebrate festivals with them, bringing gifts, lighting up diyas during Diwali, and creating moments of joy that these kids can cherish.
Through these initiatives, we aim to inspire and nurture them to dream bigger and achieve more.
Why CSR Should Matter to Accountancy Firms
The truth is, CSR isn’t just about doing good—it’s good for business too.
In our industry, it goes beyond building brand perception and becomes about building real, lasting connections with clients and communities alike. If you’re still wondering if community work is for your firm or not, studies show that 77% of consumers are more likely to support companies with strong CSR commitments.
Join Us at the Samera Global Summit
This December at the Samera Global Summit in Delhi, we’re bringing the Rhythm of Life team along to share their journey.
It’s an opportunity for all of us—business leaders, accountants, and global partners—to step out of our office spaces and into a conversation about how we can create ripples of change together.
They’ll leave you with something far more valuable than a financial tip—hope.
Until next time,
Arun
