Rewinding the 1st Samera Global Summit

The past couple of weeks have been nothing short of incredible. On December 14th and 15th, we hosted the very first Samera Global Summit at the Leela Ambience in Gurugram.  

The event, aimed at bringing different voices from the accounting community under one roof, saw business owners, CAs, techies, and seasoned marketing pros from our event sponsors Zoho turn up to share, learn, and unlearn! 

Over the two days, we didn’t just talk about accounting, offshoring, or technology—we dug deeper. We explored the future of our industry, asked tough questions, and shared ideas that will shape how we work in the years to come. 

One of the standout discussions was on AI and automation—tools that are no longer futuristic but very much here and transforming the way we work. The buzz around cloud technology and data security made it clear: the modern accounting firm must not only adopt these advancements but also ensure they deliver trust and value at every turn. 

An eye-opener for me was learning that the Middle East is emerging as one of the hottest markets for accounting and advisory work. Whether it’s the UAE or Saudi Arabia, these regions are embracing innovation and becoming fertile ground for firms ready to think globally. The opportunities here are going to be game-changing. 

But what really stood out to me were the moments in between. Whether it was the lively networking over coffee, the laughter during lunch, or the hallway discussions — those connections are what made this event truly special. 

Speaking of connections, the session on team culture was a reminder that it’s people, not just systems, that define a business. Building a team with the right mindset—one that prioritizes collaboration and innovation—is what turns good firms into great ones. 

And then there was the heartwarming performance by kids from the Rhythm of Life NGO. Watching them perform reminded us of why we do what we do. It’s not just about growth or profit—it’s about creating impact, about giving back, and about building something that uplifts the communities around us. 

In hindsight, I’m filled with hope for the future—not just for Samera, but for the entire accounting community. This was just the beginning, and I’m already looking forward to what’s next.
